Last year I flew to Vancouver to photograph an elopement at the cliffside of Caulfeild Park. As we were arriving at the location, the unexpected smoke from nearby wildfires started to drift in...
SUNSET ELOPEMENT IN CAULFEILD PARK, VANCOUVER
At first, I was worried that the smoke would obscure the couple and the scenery, but as I started to capture images, I realized that it added a whole new dimension to the photos helping me to create truly breathtaking and ethereal photographs.
For our location we picked a cliff overlooking the water on the rugged coastline of Caulfeild Park in West Vancouver. Honestly, you can't go wrong with this location as it offers stunning views of the ocean, surrounding mountains and beautiful greenery.
The smoke, that scared us at first, created a soft and romantic look, almost as if the couple was enveloped in a cloud of love. There is nothing like the muted colours and diffused light for a dreamy and intimate atmosphere, and the resulting images were truly stunning. As a wedding photographer, I'm always looking for unique ways to capture the essence of my clients' special day. This unexpected smoke gave me the opportunity to create something truly unique.
elopement photos with a rottweiler
This couple's elopement was made even more special by the presence of Boss - their rottweiler. Boss is a gentle giant and a true gentlemen. He was a true member of the family and it was important to the couple to include him in their special day. He happily sat by his owner's side during the ceremony and even posed for a few pictures with the newlyweds.
As a dog lover myself, I was thrilled to capture these special moments with the couple and their furry friend.
